r 2PC Foundation :: A Word from the Pastor
Second Presbyterian Church Foundation

A Letter from Sandy Willson

Dear Friend,

The Second Presbyterian Church Foundation was established in 1998 by several of our members. They wanted to create a mechanism to encourage long-term financial stewardship for the purpose of advancing the Kingdom of God here in Memphis and around the world. In my opinion, they have been wildly successful.

The keys to a successful missional foundation have all been put into place: godly and competent board members, a charter that guarantees independent and strategic decision-making in the years to come, an aggressive vision to minister to the city and the world, solid financial advisors, and many partners (like you) who pray and give and serve for God’s glory.

Over the past nine years, the Foundation has grown from three million dollars to nineteen million dollars in assets. These funds have made a difference for Christ in Cambodia, Ukraine, India, Argentina, and the Middle East. They have helped support the rejuvenation of Crichton College and the creation of the Memphis Center for Urban Theological Studies. By coordinating its efforts with the Second Presbyterian World Missions and MissionUSA Committees, the Foundation has helped mobilize other gifts and our members’ participation.

I can only encourage you to join the growing number of people who are using the 2PC Foundation for deferred or “windfall” giving and for donor-advised fund giving. You do not need to be a member of Second Presbyterian Church to participate. You only need to be a person who wants all of your life’s resources to be spent wisely for the Kingdom.

Sincerely,

Sandy Willson
Senior Minister
