Second Presbyterian Church Foundation

Our Mission

The Foundation was created to support the programs, mission, and ministries of Second Presbyterian Church by providing funding of strategic ministries that make a difference in this world and the world to come.

The Foundation’s annual operating budget is managed on a sound financial basis keeping expenses very low thus allowing the majority of revenue to be disbursed for grants and outreach ministries. With an ever growing Foundation base, we can continue to provide strategic support to our mission partners.

Outreach Objectives

World Outreach Initiatives

The Foundation is funding a variety of initiatives throughout the world. These are strategic in nature and work in concert with our existing world mission partners. They are meeting the physical, social, and spiritual needs in diverse geographic areas. This is accomplished through efforts such as church planting, attending to health issues, and the development of theological and educational materials for the equipping of church leaders.

Home Outreach Initiatives

Spiritual revitalization of targeted areas of Memphis and the surrounding area is the goal of this initiative. Foundation funds are being used for community development, leading to an Hispanic church plant in the Berclair area. Funds have been provided for assistance in property acquisition for St. Patrick’s in Collierville. Additionally, the Foundation provides support for missional research initiatives and strategic support to MissionUSA agencies such as Memphis Center for Urban Theological Studies (MCUTS).

Christian Leadership Initiatives

Since its inception, the Foundation has supported the development of Christian leaders in Memphis, America and around the world. This is accomplished through grants to seminary students, youth ministers, pastoral internships as well as organizations that equip leaders for lay and vocational ministry. Globally, this suppport is given in Ukraine, Syria, and muslim countries.
