Second Presbyterian Church Foundation

Tax Advisory Group

The Foundation has a policy of getting technical tax and legal professionals to (1) approve the structure of proposed non cash, deferred gifts; (2) to meet with a prospective donor’s advisory team, when requested, and to assist in structuring a gift or planning a bequest; and (3) serve as an editorial board to approve all tax references in Foundation printed materials including letters to 2PC members. Further, the Foundation has a policy of not giving tax advice to donors. It does, however, from time to time offer suggestions for the donor’s advisors to consider.

To facilitate this policy, a tax advisory group exists. A member of the tax advisory group assists Foundation directors and/or the Foundation Chief Administrative Officer in carrying out the policies mentioned above.

The Foundation has software available to assist in determining the monetary and tax effect of different gift scenarios.
