In May, at an event in San Francisco, Google recognized a ministry in the Orange Mound neighborhood with deep ties to Second as its 2019 Tennessee Small Business of the Year. My Cup of Tea will be featured in Google’s economic publication with 51 other small businesses from across the nation.

The Foundation has supported My Cup of Tea with grants for the last two years.

Second’s Domestic Outreach Director Brian Lewis says, “My Cup of Tea is a strategic foothold in Orange Mound for ongoing kingdom work. It has provided income and job skills, created a venue for racial reconciliation, and developed a vehicle for knowing Christ. It is a bridge-building ministry that breaks down barriers between class and ethnicity.”

“Ministry and serving alongside our local mission partners is as natural and reflexive as breathing to Eddie Foster. He has poured himself into expanding the Lord’s kingdom, with a special focus on Memphis. His heart for all people has encouraged us all.”

Our church’s one earthly Foundation is strong — due to the individual strong funds. The individual funds are strong — due to the one Foundation.

Ever wonder what the Second Presbyterian Church Foundation does with the resources it has and how it is even possible to do as much as it does? The monthly FUNDation STRONG series conveys this information including the current and cumulative ministry impact that affects not only our ministry partners, but our own congregation.
